The official trailer for Respect is finally out and is as incredible as you thought. According to Deadline, "the story follows her rise from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to international superstardom." The highly-anticipated biopic also stars Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, Audra McDonald, Tituss Burgess, Marc Maron, Kimberly Scott, Saycon Sengbloh, Hailey Kilgore, Heather Headley, Tate Donovan, Mary J. Blige, and Skye Dakota Turner as Young Aretha Franklin.

Many are already saying Hudson may score her second Oscar with this leading role and others are keeping a watchful eye on Wayans, whose fans are eager to see tackle a dramatic role.

Initially slated for a Christmas release, Respect will now be available for your viewing pleasure on August 13th.
