You really don't know what you know until you try your hand at a game of "Jeopardy!" One contestant definitely learned this lesson the hard way when he gave a hilariously wrong answer to a clue.
During a recent episode of "Jeopardy!" contestant Steve went out on a limb to give what he thought could be the correct answer to a clue. He was, however, incredibly wrong.
The category was "Hot Stuff," and there was one remaining clue for $1,000. The clue was as follows: "Steffano Ferrera is a famous maker of these, which can reach a temperature of 800 degrees inside."
Steve gave his best shot, answering, "What is a calzone?" Fans immediately took to Twitter with the funny gaffe, noting that there's no way a calzone could reach such temperatures.
The correct answer was, of course, an oven.
Recent "Jeopardy!" drama has been circulating the internet in the absence of the late iconic host, Alex Trebek. Fans have been clamoring to find out who the successor may be permanently.
Until then, "Jeopardy!" has featured a slew of guest hosts, the most highly anticipated of which being LeVar Burton.
Burton campaigned for himself to be on the show, calling himself the best suited successor for the role following an online petition to get him on the show.
The petition garnered over 250,000 signatures.
Recently, Burton has been transparent about vying for the role of "Jeopardy!" guest host, telling USA Today's "The Mothership" podcast that he feels "as strongly about my rightness for this as I did about Kunta and Geordi. And I'm that invested in getting the job."
