In season five, Kanan Stark's (played by Mekai Curtis) true ruthlessness takes shape. He knows exactly who he is and who he must become to defeat his enemies. Unfortunately, his mother becomes one of those enemies and is forced to team up with Pantoliano’s character.
Joe Pantoliano, who you may recognize from hit shows such as The Sopranos, The Matrix, and the Bad Boys franchise, sat down with Audacy and Romeo International for insight into the final season of Raising Kanan.
How did you feel jumping into this fan phenomenon series of Raising Kanan?
"I learned my line to try not to bump into the furniture. Like they say in 'The Matrix,' ignorance is bliss. I had so much fun, right? Working with Patina and Tony, and you know, people ask me all the time, 'what's your favorite part? What was your favorite movie?' I don't ever remember the parts, and I don't have favorite movies. I have favorite experiences, relationships, and friendships."
"In working with and getting to know Patina, I realized what a phenomenal artist she is, and with Tony having known him for 40 years, but never had gotten a chance to work with him, to be able to work with him and spar with him was amazing. Then in between action and cut, so much fun, so many laughs. My department is to service the author, the intentions of what they have, and I'm just a part. I am a part of a whole. So I don't have the whole to worry about. All I have to worry about is the part that I add to the story."
