Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women examines a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women. The unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that alter our lives irrevocably. As the investigation unfolds, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.

Actors Joel Kinnaman and Corey Stoll joined Audacy for a International Conversation with Romeo International to give insight into why they chose to be a part of this star studded mystery drama.

"When you guys put your name on it, what attracted you more? Was it the writing or was it the cast?

Joel Kinnaman: "Good question. It was sort of like a double whammy. First it was the cast for sure, because that's what I found out first. Then I read it and I was like, 'okay, I got to be part of this.' I was really, really excited to play with these people. It's a really strong cast and I just know how it is when you're playing with people on that level. It just becomes fun, you know, when you step on set and everyone is at a level. You immediately like to just get put into the circumstances that, the imaginary circumstances that exist, you're just there. It just makes for a much easier, like, slide into it. Then, you know, the writing, it was a really juicy character. A kind of character that I hadn't played before, so that made me really excited about it."

Corey Stoll: "I first read episodes one through four and it was intriguing. It was a great cast. Then I said, like, 'well, can you show me anymore?' And they gave me like five and six, I think, which is when my character really makes some big changes. It was very surprising and very challenging, and I said, 'I can do this if I do it with Kate Mara and Elisabeth Moss,' because I know they are going to go for it too. If I'm doing this by myself with actors who aren't game or ready to go for it, I'm going to look silly, but I know that we're all gonna go for it. So that made it kind of a no-brainer to get on board.
