While choosing to remain tight-lipped about the current drama with his former bandmate, the 75-year-old took to social media with a message promoting reflection and kindness. The message is the first we’ve heard from Oates following news of the lawsuit last week.

“During this time of communal reflection and connection with loved ones, let's not forget those experiencing challenges globally,” Oates posted via X.

“As we come together, consider reaching out to support those in need—whether through local charities or international humanitarian initiatives. May our collective efforts contribute to a more compassionate and supportive world. J.O. 👊🏽.”

Nice to see Oates is all about spreading love while he may not be receiving much. Complaints against Oates were filed by Hall via the Nashville chancery court just last week (November 16). While many details of the documents are still under seal and remain classified as a “contract/debt” matter, Billboard has reported the lawsuit centers around Oates’ plan to sell off his share of a joint venture, which reportedly would go against their establishes business agreement.

Their reports read, “A Nashville chancery court judge issued the temporary restraining order on Nov. 16, writing that Oates and others involved in his trust can’t move to close the sale of their share of Whole Oats Enterprises LLP to Primary Wave IP Investment Management LLC until an arbitrator in a separately filed case weighs in on the deal, or until the judge’s order expires — typically within 15 days, unless a judge extends the deadline.”

While many details are still under wraps, one thing remains clear — the former duo and business partners have a lot to work out.

As many die-hard fans already know, this isn’t the first scuffle between the successful duo who have been known to break-up and reunite several times throughout their career. While there’s never been a lack of drama, their success as a duo shines bright as they’ve garnered eight platinum records, and six number one hits.

Neither of the members’ representatives have returned requests for comments following the lawsuit.
