During a hometown performance at the iconic Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, Tennessee this past weekend, Justin Timberlake surprised concertgoers with the live debut of his new song, “Selfish.”

His first new solo material to drop since his fifth studio album, 2018’s Man of the Woods, “Selfish” is just the first taste of what fans can expect from JT’s highly anticipated next project.

“So if I get jealous, I can’t help it / I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” JT sang on the rhythmic track.

And he didn’t stop there — following his performance, Timberlake took to social media to share a first look at what appears to be a forthcoming visual album, Everything I Thought It Was.

Featuring a voice-over from Benicio Del Toro, the album trailer, with its Wes Anderson Asteroid City vibes, starts off with a model car being maneuvered to drive toward a desert gas station at sunset.

“What do we have here?” Del Toro says as the video opens. “Ooh, that’s a nice car! Wait, it’s a model. Did that say JT? OK, that sunset is definitely not real. Oh, there’s Justin! Why won’t he turn around? What the f*** is he staring at?” Ending with yellow words against a black screen that read — “Justin Timberlake Presents: Everything I Thought It Was.”

The unveiling of his next album’s title comes after JT's IG tease from earlier in the week. Featuring a series of behind the scenes pics from the trailer shoot, captioned “EITIW,” which led fans to suppose and speculate. A couple days after answering our questions about “EITIW,” while still keeping us conveniently confused, Justin took to IG once more to share that something, whether it be the single or the entire album, will be arriving on ”1.25”.
