Kelly Rowland is sharing news on the happier side of things. The artist has revealed her second pregnancy as she graces the November cover of Women’s Health.

Rowland and her husband, Tim Weatherspoon, “had been talking about it loosely” but when the pandemic hit the couple figured they’d go for it.

Kelly is due later this year, but in her Women’s Health story she says that she was hesitant to share the news of baby number two during a time when the country is facing a pandemic and national unrest centered around race and politics. However, Rowland adds, "but you still want to remind people that life is important, and being able to have a child... I'm knocking at 40's door in February. Taking care of myself means a lot to me.”

Mother to 5-year-old son, Titan Jewell, Kelly explains that she experienced an "overwhelming sense of exhaustion" after confirmation of her second pregnancy and felt worried that fans would be disappointed if she couldn’t debut new music during the pregnancy. Kelly says that she will work to figure out how she can deliver a healthy second child and deliver a healthy dose of new music to the fans.

Additionally, Rowland discusses her thoughts about raising two children during the heightened Black Lives Matter movement and in a time when Black lives are constantly undervalued.

When she found out about George Floyd’s death Kelly shares, “I'd just put Titan to bed. I got into the shower, and I had this real hard, ugly, deep cry. Because I promised to protect my kid. That was the main thing I was thinking about: protecting this little innocence.” But, the expecting mother remains optimistic about bringing new life into the world.
