Kim Kardashian is working hard to clarify her controversial business advice for women that recently went viral.

After previously telling women to "get your f***ing ass up and work” during an interview with Variety, the 41-year-old reality star is now apologizing and believes her words were taken “out of content.”

Kardashian sufferred backlash for the comments, which many saw as “tone deaf.” To set the record straight, the SKIMS founder turned to “Good Morning America.”

"Well, that statement that I said was without questions and conversation around it," she told host Robin Roberts. "It became a sound bite really with no context. And that sound bite I came off the notion and the question right before which was after 20 years of being in the business you're famous for being famous. And my whole tone and attitude changed with the previous question that went into that question about what advice would you give to women."

Kardashian shared how she was trying to convey that it takes “hard work” to build a business even with a larger platform.

“And the advice that I would give is just that having a social media presence and being on a reality show, does not mean overnight success,” she added. “You have to really work hard to get there, even if it might seem like it’s easy. And that you can build a really successful business off of social media and you can, if you put in a lot of hard work.”

Kardashian acknowledged the efforts working women put in and apologized for her words being misconstrued.

“It wasn’t a blanket statement towards women or to feel like I don’t respect the work or think that they don’t work hard,” she continued. “I know that they do. It was taken out of context, but I’m really sorry if it was received that way.”

During the Variety interview, Kardashian said: “I have the best advice for women in business. Get your f***ing ass up and work. It seems like nobody wants to work these days.”

At Sunday’s Oscars, co-hosts Regina Hall and Wanda Sykes used Kardashian’s comments as fodder for a joke in one of their bits.

“Dame Judi Dench… we have an inspirational quote for you,” Hall said to Dench, who was seated in the audience. “A quote from Kim Kardashian: work harder.”

Sykes chimed in by adding, "You gotta move that ass, Dame."
