The big news was delivered to both artists by Country superstar, Miranda Lambert, who is nominated in the Entertainer of the Year, Female Artist of the Year, Video of the Year and Album of the Year categories.
“If anyone understands the blood sweat and tears, it’s you,” Wilson told Miranda upon receiving the news. “I just want to say thank you for paving the damn way!”
McCollum responded to the news in utter shock saying, “Are you serious? I’m getting blurry vision right now.” He went on to question whether or not the news was serious. “I won?” He’s asked. “That is wild!”
In addition to the New Artist winners being revealed this morning, the Academy also announced Lady A has been added to the performance line-up for the big night.
The 57th Annual celebration, hosted by Dolly Parton, Gabby Barrett and Jimmie Allen will take place live from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Monday, March 7 at 8PM ET/7PM CT. For the first time in ACM Awards history, the show will be exclusively broadcast live via Amazon’s Prime Video.
