“I’m very excited about it,” Lauren said about her brand new project. “We have a duet with Lainey Wilson on there that is about… being thicc,” she said after a cheeky pause, “it’s called ‘Thicc As Thieves.’”
“We have lots in common, Lainey and I,” Lauren added, “so were celebrating that with that song and were very excited about it.”
As for that Luke Bryan songwriting credit, “we sampled ‘Country Girl (Shake It For Me),’” Lauren revealed, noting Luke gave her his blessing to write a song about butts.
Explaining why she named the project Unlocked, Lauren shared, “it’s because it’s truly a Country record. And sometimes when we recorded records they can lean Pop or R&B or whatever. But this one, no one would listen to this record and think that it’s not a Country album and that makes me really proud.”
Lauren also talked about working with record producer Joey Moi, her Cole Swindell written track "Smaller the Town,” her friendship with Lainey Wilson, and more. Check out the entire conversation above, and listen to Unlocked, officially out everywhere, below.
