For decades, Leonardo DiCaprio has been known for being Hollywood’s biggest heartthrob and being a multi-skilled actor on screen.

Apple just revealed the first-ever pictures from Martin Scorsese’s film, “Killers of the Flower Moon,” a film that the 46-year-old will star in, according to IndieWire.

The photos show Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone as Ernest and Mollie Burkhart, a white man and an Osage woman who fall in love during the early 20th century while living in Oklahoma. In the first snaps of the film, DiCaprio’s character looks like an ordinary young man, seated next to Gladstone in a dining room.

“Flower Moon” is based on David Grann’s book. The nonfiction book tells the story of the Osage Nation murders, a tragic time when Native Americans in Oklahoma were killed after oil was found on their land in the 1920s.

The movie has a well-known cast that includes Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Cara Jade Myers, Janae Collins, Jillian Dion, William Belleau, Jason Isbell, Louis Cancelmi, Scott Shepherd, Sturgill Simpson, and many others.

On April 19, cast members began filming the movie after COVID-19 delayed production.

“We are thrilled to finally start production on ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ in Oklahoma,” the movie director said. “To be able to tell this story on the land where these events took place is incredibly important and critical to allowing us to portray an accurate depiction of the time and people.”

“Flower Moon” is expected to hit theaters by Paramount with funding from Apple. The movie currently does not have a release date.
