Flexing his acting skills and teasing his upcoming track, “Industry Baby,” Nas released a 2-minute prelude sketch video titled "Nike v. Lil Nas X — Satan Shoes Trial.”
Performing out his own fictional legal battle against the major shoe brand suing him for his viral MSCHF branded Satan shoes released back in March. Nas spoofed the whole headline grabbing situation between Nike and MSCHF that was actually settled back in April.
Doing his Tyler Perry, Eddie Murphy thang, Nas acted out various characters throughout the sketch including himself, his lawyer, opposing counsel, the judge and more. In addition to X saying his piece with the fictitious court trial quickly, he also satirically criticized his sexuality, which many so publicly seem to do, especially since his music video for “Montero” dropped. "Let me rephrase the question: Do your momma know you gay?" his lawyer character asks him while on the stand in the video. When he answers "yes," a juror (also played by Lil Nas X) makes his feelings on the matter clear: "Lock him up, throw away the key.”
The clip ends with Lil Nas X being sentenced to "5 years in Montero State Prison,” referring to his No. 1 single "Montero (Call Me By Your Name),” for which as we previously mention the music video for, started this whole, how shall we put it… “thing.”
Set to feature Jack Harlow, “Industry Baby,” co-produced by Kanye West and Take A Daytrip is due out Friday, July 23.
