Like oh so many of us have, in the past, Lil Nas X has had “some good boyfriends,” and “some bad ones,” but according to him, he’s now found “the one.”

As the “Industry Baby” singer explained during his recent interview with Variety, when it comes to his past romantic partners, “a lot of them [were] emotionally unavailable and whatnot. A lot of insecurity between them. But yeah, I found somebody special now. I think this is the one. I can't explain it. It's a feeling," added Lil Nas, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill.
Though Nas opted out of sharing the identity of his current love, the unofficial rumor is that he’s in a relationship with his backup dancer Yai Ariza since the pair have packed on the PDA during various TV appearances, yup BET Awards performance included, in addition to when Ariza licked Lil Nas X’s neck during a his SNL performance of “Montero (Call Me by Your Name).”
The duo basically broke the internet by becoming the first male entertainers to share a kiss on the lips onstage, which seeing as its 2021 is kind of ridiculous it took that long. You know what they say, supposed couples that make crazy cool historical moments together are secretly dating and are super in love. Okay whatever, no one said that, and nothing is confirmed or official, but we ship it nonetheless.
Elsewhere in the interview the two-time GRAMMY winner went on to chat about dating in the LGBTQ+ before the fame, and share that he used to use the dating app, Grindr, which is actually how he met his first boyfriend.
“Before that, I had a guy who -- it wasn't my boyfriend, but we met in high school, we met in middle school," Nas continued, “and we talked after we both found out that each other were gay or whatnot.”
The "Old Town Road" rapper, who came out as gay during Pride Month 2019, revealed that he knew he was gay when he was "maybe like" five years old.
"I had feelings for my sister's cousin on her father's side. We have different dads," he recalled. "And I was like, 'Oh my God. He's really cute.' Not only that, a lot of other boys my age, I was, like, 'Oh, this boy is cute.'" However, Lil Nas X added that he "didn't act on anything until middle school, but then high school.”
Whoever he is, and despite the fact that those couple pics would be fire and not seeing any is an absolute shame, we’re glad Lil Nas X has found someone "special" and worthy of him.
