As if the Super Bowl wasn’t already exciting enough, halfway through, Beyoncé took it upon herself to surprise drop two songs from her impending act ii album.

Mere moments after her game day Verizon commercial aired, Bey revealed the first two second act tracks of the three-act project she announced back in 2022.

Not that we’re complaining — but if you’re wondering how a Verizon ad led to her dropping two singles, this is how it all connects. Throughout the commercial Beyoncé was jokingly doing her best to break the network, just as she’s broken the internet many a time before. However when her attempts — including going into space, opening her own lemonade stand, announcing her presidential candidacy, and more — failed, she knew what she had to do, "Drop the new music!" And that’s exactly what she did, releasing two Country tracks, ”Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages," that arrived with no music videos, but official visualizers instead.

Beyoncé dropped the news with a teaser on IG. In true Yoncé fashion, the clip came with no caption, but all the info we needed was received by the end, when the visual cuts to a black screen that reads “act ii, 3.29.”

After dropping the wild wild west themed teaser, Beyoncé share the single art for both songs, that legitimately had us gasping for air. No seriously, take a look for yourself.

Showcasing her smooth vocals and Houston, Texas-bred twang on both tracks, "Texas Hold 'Em" is the livelier of the two songs, while "16 Carriages” has a more melodic ballad quality.

act ii, will arrive March 29. Listen to the album's first two singles below.
