Fresh off his his recent hosting gig, alongside Mickey Guyton at the 56th Annual ACM Awards, Keith Urban is showing no signs of slowing down as with the recent release of his music video for the song “Out Of The Cage" feat. Breland and Nile Rodgers off his Speed Of Now Part 1 album.
Urban wrote the song alongside newcomer Breland, after reaching out via text message.
“He said ‘YOOOOO’ with like five or six O’s” Breland shared in a video on social media of the initial text he got from Urban. “[He said] This is Keith (as in Urban).”
The “Don’t Touch My Truck” singer needed no further info to scoop up any opportunity he could to collaborate with Urban, which ultimately led to the creation of “Out Of The Cage.”
“Breland is sooooo great to work with,” Urban praised. “He’s a really strong songwriter, killer singer, super smart, and is just the nicest human being to be around. I thrive off of that kind of creativity and energy too.”
Breland isn’t the first artist to get the “Keith Urban treatment” on a song. Pop star P!nk and Urban made waves with their collab on “One Too Many” last year which recently received a nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year at the 2021 CMT Awards.
The same video is also nominated in the Video of the Year category. Urban’s fans can vote him into the top spot now here.
