Singer-songwriter Louie Bello is shaking up Country music with his very own style and new single, “Ain’t Tryna Be A Cowboy.”
LISTEN NOW: Louie Bello talks music, TikTok, and how he found himself in Country music
The Boston-native, who currently makes a living as an art teacher for students ages 4-13 is working hard to make his dreams come true and finally gaining some traction.
Bello’s single, “Ain’t Tryna Be A Cowboy,” is available now and can be seen across TikTok as users post videos of the viral dance and show off their Country swagger. The song acknowledges Bello’s Boston roots may not fit the stereotypical Country mold, but Country music is still a large part of who he is.
“I ain’t trying to be a cowboy, I just love Country music,” Bello told Audacy’s Rob Stone of his response to anyone who questions his love for the genre. That response ultimately turned into a song.
“I went to Nashville like 8 or 9 years ago for a meeting and I fell in love with the city, I fell in love with the people and just really started getting myself more engrossed in Country music and it just lead me on this path.”
Bello says the tune is not intended to throw shade at cowboys, but instead encourage people to embrace who they are.
“It’s so funny because people make comments on the cowboy song… People are like, 'Yeah, man. I don’t like cowboys!’ And I’m like, ‘Well, that’s not really the idea of the song.'”
He continued, “I’m just saying like, ‘Do you because you can be anything that you want.’”
The fun will continue for Bello as he revs up to release a new song, “Yippee Ki Yay” in the coming weeks with only one goal — to keep having fun!
