Luke Bryan could really use a “beer in his hand” right about now after having to cancel three recent shows due to sickness.

“This is such a frustrating weekend,” the star tweeted on August 6 after cancelling a show in Salt Lake City on August 4 and Boise on the 5th due to a “head cold.”

Additionally, he was forced to cancel his headlining performance at Watershed Music Festival on the 6th for the same reason.

“‘Shedders, I am sorry to let you down but I am not back singing – can hardly even talk still,” he wrote before sharing his sheer devastation. “This festival is one of the most beautiful places we perform and one of the most fun crowds always. I know my friends on the show will bring a great time for you! Show them all what you got. Love ya – Luke.”

Lainey Wilson stepped in to fill the headlining slot left vacant by Luke on Sunday and even paid a little tribute to the American Idol judge with a medley of his songs.

“We’re steppin’ up, we’re doin’ it,” Lainey Wilson told Audacy’s Gabe Mercer. ”Poor Luke Bryan cannot be here, but we got you, buddy! I threw together a few songs of Luke Bryan’s and we’re a little medley together since he can’t be here — I hope you get well soon.”
