Miranda Lambert is no stranger to the hard work put in by up-and-coming musicians as they strive to “make it” in the music industry. Playing covers, multiple gigs, late nights and living off the mercy of tips, Miranda knows the grind all too well after getting her start the exact same way.

As the new owner of her very own honky tonk bar in downtown Nashville, Miranda is exposed to even more of those hardworking musicians as they take the stage at her Casa Rosa bar and cantina, often covering Miranda’s most popular songs while she is in the crowd.

“They play for tips and they get requests and so when I walk in to Casa Rosa, I hear a lot of my own songs,” Lambert told Audacy’s Rob + Holly. “I’m sure that’s not these girls’ favorite thing to do is sing my own songs in front of me ‘cause I know I’d freak out if that was me.”

As a frequent visitor, Lambert finds it important to support the up-and-comers and encourage them every chance she gets.

“It’s fun to watch and I admire what they’re doin’,” she continued. “I know it’s really hard work, ‘cause that’s how I started too. So I always just want to make sure I pay them, give them some daps and be like ‘you go girl, you got this.’”

Miranda’s support doesn’t end with those playing her bar. She also finds time to mentor and collaborate with the next generation of female singer-songwriters.

“I’ve been writin’ some with Lainey Wilson, Caylee Hammack and obviously, I’m a huge Ashley McBryde fan,” said Miranda. “I want these girls to win and shine, and if I can be a little, tiny part of that, I want to be. Also, it’s inspiring when you hear somebody great, you’re like, ‘Man! I need to step-up my game.’”
