The 36-year-old recently sat down with Audacy’s Sabrina to share more about her journey to auditioning for the show any why it almost didn’t happen.

“Honestly, years ago I was getting hit up by one of their casting agents,” Myles shared. ”I think they had found me because of Instagram or something. I just said it wasn’t really for me now.”

After turning down the opportunity, Myles’ mindset was changed after she continued to struggle getting her career off the ground after 17 years of hard work and being met with a global pandemic.

“The pandemic will make you do some crazy things,” she laughed. “At the time, I’m playing all these solo, acoustic shows across the country — killing myself. I was like, ‘What do I have to lose?’ It wasn’t a casting sort of thing, it was videos… Next thing I know, I’m in LA for like, a year.”

The decision turned out to be a great one for Morgan, who made the top three under the mentorship of coach, Camila Cabello. She continued to see success following the show with opportunities including playing Nashville’s famed Country stage at the Grand Ole Opry.

“No matter what stage you’re in, it makes you better,” she said of competing on the show. “You’re in a really intense bootcamp of a whole other experience that you’re never really going to have again.”

Years of hard work is really paying off for Myles, who is happy to encourage others to chase their own dreams with the following advice. “First and foremost, know who you are,” she stated. “The biggest thing is believing in yourself. Trying to balance out comparison — that’ll kill ya. Trust your journey, it’s not going to be the same as anybody else. Put good people around you.”
