The Country star made a $500,000 donation on Monday to the American Red Cross, which is aiding in recovery efforts across impacted parts of East Tennessee (Wallen’s hometown), North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia. The donation was made via the singer’s Morgan Wallen Foundation which focuses on contributing to communities in times of crisis as well as providing kids with access to opportunities in sports and music.

“My family in East Tennessee are safe but I know many are absolutely devastated there and in multiple states,” Wallen said ahead of making the donation in a video posted to his Instagram story. "It is going to take a monumental effort and I am in contact with my team and others working on ways I can help."

“We can't thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee," Red Cross' national president for humanitarian services, Trevor Riggin, said in a statement to Knox News.

While Wallen is the first artist to publicly make a donation to hurricane relief efforts, a handful of others have shared they are working with their teams to figure out the best way to help. Those artists include Lainey Wilson and former North Carolina natives Eric Church and Luke Combs.
