Natalie Martinez portrays Valentina, McConaughey’s wife, who not only helps keep their family on track but also keeps Woody in check. In an interview with Romeo International, Natalie discussed the series and her perspective on family dynamics.
"It's just easy watching, man, you know, like for the show. It's just easy watching, this isn't 'True Detective,' you know? This is supposed to be light. I think there's so much going on in the world that it's nice and it's fun to sit down and be able to watch something with your family, or have someone just be silly and funny," she shares.
"I think sometimes it's nice to have that balance. Not everything has to be this emotional roller coaster all the time. But what I love is that this series, not only is it an easy watch, but it's also heartfelt, and you have moments of like what family is, you know, it could be blood, it could be the chosen family. It brings up those questions. It doesn't really matter if we're brothers or not. I love you like a brother and that's all that matters, you know? And that's kind of a tagline with this whole show and I think you see that with both families coming together and just kind of coexisting. I feel like that's one of the things I'm taking away from this character. And then just from this show in general, is how to just have a good time."
