So, Oregon State University created a bi-pedal robot, and the machine TAUGHT ITSELF how to run. And because there's a 5K for everything and they probably didn't want there to be robo-fomo, the engineers let the bot run the full length, setting a just-better-than-walking time of fifty something minutes.
Now, because we've watched too many '90s action movies, we jump to conclusions that it's only a matter of time before this beast is chasing you down an alley or backflip-kicking you in the crotch or face. Oh, also, I forgot to mention, this creep is only legs.
Yup. No body, or arms, or head to humanize it -- just terrifying-looking ostrich legs. Somewhere out there, there's a top half of Darth Maul waiting for you, legs. ~Gregr
