CHiPs... you know, California Highway Patrol, busted a dude with a Starlink Satellite dish mounted to the HOOD of his car. It should go without saying that this is problematic.
“Yes, it is in fact illegal to mount a satellite dish to the hood of your vehicle,” CHiP’s Facebook post describing the incident said, citing state law that prohibits obstructions like objects hanging from the rear-view, poorly positioned GPS units, or downlinks on your hood. “It’s about safety folks. These are the real stories of the Highway Patrol. Safe travels everyone.”
