The trailer shows scenes from the final two episodes of the season – which will have a total runtime of nearly four hours. So extrapolate how much excitement will be in those four hours from the rush of this two-minute teaser.

First, a voiceover ominously warns, “I’m not going to lie to you – your friends are not prepared for this fight.”

Soldiers shooting, monsters leaping, underworlds of various depths, constant chases… The word “epic” is one of the most overused terms of the new millennium, but this trailer truly deserves the descriptor.

And in case you thought that revived, 30-year old Kate Bush hit song was going to miss the cut, fear not. But fear a lot else, if this dark, throbbing, suspenseful trailer is any indication.

Despite the overarching sense of dread in the trailer, in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, producer-director Shawn Levy implied there will be multiple layers of emotions in the last episodes.

“Having seen both those finale episodes, they are as emotional as they are cinematic,” he said. “Holy sh*t, they are definitely a treat for the eyes, but they punch you right in the heart. So, that’s what I’ll say about that.”

The Hollywood Reporter says there will be some comedy in there too. But in this new trailer, it’s all run, gun, and blood red danger.

According to Netflix, “Stranger Things” racked up 286.79 million hours of viewing time worldwide from May 25-27. That beat the previous record-holder, season two of “Bridgerton,” which had 193 million hours of watch time over its opening weekend in March, 2022.
