TMZ shared reports of the incident, which happened while on set of a “super secret project,” but details surrounding Jonas’ injury were unclear.
“I'm feeling OK, I’ve been better, but I'm doing all right.” Nick shared when asked about his condition by The Voice host Carson Daly during Monday night’s show.
“Cracked rib from a spill on a bike, and a few other bumps and bruises,” he continued. “But I just want to go ahead and say that, in case I'm not as physically enthusiastic as I usually am. Blake, please don't make me laugh as much, because it hurts to laugh.”
Shelton was ready with a quick witted response (as always) saying, “You're just trying to get sympathy votes on the show.” Jonas quickly clapped back responding, “Yeah, the big elaborate plan,” with a laugh.
Glad to see his sense of humor wasn’t injured!
Jonas is not the first judge to experience a health hiccup this season. Fellow judge Kelly Clarkson was forced to sit out the show’s battle rounds earlier in the season due to illness. Country singer Kelsea Ballerini filled in during Clarkson’s absence.
Jonas is currently in his second season as a judge on the singing competition, sitting alongside fellow judges Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
Nick recently revealed he will not return for another season, leaving an open spot on the panel that will be filled by Ariana Grande.
