“To begin when you start changing lives around you and began to stand for something deep in your purpose you become a target to a certain group of people and also the devil,” Choppa said in a recent social media post addressing his arrest where he was charged with burglary, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of synthetic cannabis, cannabis, and Xanax.
“During this arrest I was setup, substances were planted on me that I don’t consume/use/own, my name was lied upon, and I was even mistreated in the process. Every media outlet news channel, and etc covered this story to paint a picture on a new surface I’ve been working so hard to create. This case will be beat and I will walk a free man, remember it’s innocent until proven guilty not guilty until proven innocent. Asking my supporters to stand firm with me and allow God to do his work. Thank you and love y’all dearly -NLE”
According to legal documents, the Memphis native, whose real name is Bryson Potts, and an associate were seen on a “live camera feed” jumping the fence of a tow yard that the rapper told authorities he was breaking into to retrieve a watch from a previously towed vehicle — and the vehicle in question wasn’t found in the tow yard he’d broken into.
Several reports stated the rapper was allegedly seen wearing a black ski mask and a black jacket with white sleeves when he and his accomplice exited a silver Ford Expedition, jumped the gate and walked around. After being arrested amid returning to the Ford, cops also allegedly found a Glock 27 with an extender and an AK-47 Draco pistol in the car, both fully loaded.
