Speaking with Jimmy Kimmel Live guest host Anthony Anderson this week, the 29-year-old rapper detailed his game plan: "My first date, I went big," the Migos member said. "I wanted to do something that was not normally done, you know what I'm saying? I wanted to have fun... so I took her to the Super Bowl."
Even though his team, the Atlanta Falcons, was beat by the New England Patriots causing him to lose "10,000 dollars that night" at Super Bowl LI in 2017, Offset did win Cardi’s heart.
"Around Super Bowl time I told my publicist to tell him, because I was very shy, 'Listen, if we gonna go on a public date together, you cannot make me look like a dumb-ass after this,'" Cardi told GQ in 2018 about the date.
"I never wanted to date a rapper because I would hate to look crazy in public." Cardi added, graphically, "he was like, 'No, I really like her. I'm really feeling her.' We was talking, we was making out. We didn't f***. After the Super Bowl, it got really serious because I feel, like, all eyes on us."
The couple wed in September of 2017, and after some on and off divorce talk and welcoming a child, Kulture in 2018, Cardi is once again with a bun in the oven, her second child with Offset, and his fifth child in total.
