Word after word, Oliva laughs as she exclaims, “oh my god! I can only think of Taylor Swift lyrics!” However, she did spice things up when given the word “story,” covering Brandi Carlile’s “The Story,” and taking a Broadway twist when singing Annie’s “Easy Street” after associating it with the word street.
Plus, Olivia drops some Rodrigo history, telling us that Annie was one of the first musicals she ever did.
Additionally, the “déjà vu” singer shares that her “first-ever favorite song was Swift’s 2006 track, “Picture to Burn.”
In the midst of associating words to songs, Olivia pauses to tell us about her dream collaboration, explaining, “I think it would be really cool to collaborate with Billie Eilish. Everything she does is just so spectacular. I love like her first EP… I fell so deeply in love with that project.” She adds that she finds Eilish’s track “My Boy” “so genius and clever and fun.”
Giving some insight into “drivers license,” Oliva tells viewers, “I wrote the bulk of ‘drivers license’ in my living room after driving around my neighborhood like crying to Gracie Abrams songs.” And when given the word “Forever,” of course, the young Pop star associates it with her own hit single. The lyrics that she uses are, “you said forever but I drive alone past your street.”
Finally, Olivia closes out the short but sweet segment associating the word “think” with the classic No Doubt song, “Don’t Speak,” originally sung by the iconic, Gwen Stefani.
