“I think there's this period of time back in all like 16, 17, 18 year old kids go through where they just feel so incredibly lost, and so just angsty for no reason and sad. This album to me is my interpretation of that period of my life that I was going through. It feels really angsty to me, which I really like,” Olivia shared with Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe. “It's reminiscent of sort of the albums like 'Jagged Little Pill' that I love.”

It’s no secret Olivia has looked up to several artists wile building her very own career. Taylor Swift, Kacey Musgraves and Halsey are just a few she’s praised, but a stand-out artist for her, who inspires her to showcase raw honesty is none other than Cardi B.

“I feel lucky to be a teenager at the time when Cardi is making music," shared Rodrigo. “She gives me courage to sort of say whatever I want to say and be honest in telling my story,” she continued. “Just even as a songwriter, some of the stuff that she says is just so honest and almost like shockingly honest, like when I listened to her song, I'm like, Oh wow she really just said that on a recorded album.”

Honesty, angst and the undeniable talent of Olivia… this album is shaping up to be even better than expected.

“I'm super, super critical of everything, but I'm really happy with this album,” she shared. “And that doesn't happen very often where I feel completely sure… I really feel like it's the best that I can do right now and I'm real proud of that.”
