Remember not that long ago when we thought Pete Davidson might leave "Saturday Night Live," and he started removing all his tattoos, and it looked like he might just settle into a relatively quiet indie film career?

Then the word “Kardashian” came into his life.

While we’re certainly glad he’s back at "SNL" stirring up comedy gold, some have been a bit surprised at seeing Davidson hanging around with the recently divorced Kim Kardashian.

Davidson, 27, addressed his fans' surprise when he sat on the couch with Seth Meyers on "Late Night" Monday. The two started getting into the topic a bit, though never actually dropping Kim’s name.

Seth inched into the waters, as the audience cheered. "I want to address something,” said the host. “I feel like I want to confirm if it's real or a rumor. This is something you've been reading a lot about in the press."

And Davidson played right along: "I've been wanting to talk about this because there's a lot of people I walk by, people are like whispering and making eyes at me. But it is true -- I do have a show on Tubi coming out."

The hilarious admission was a sly veer away from what the whole audience seemed to be champing at the bit to know.

As E! explained, Davidson was referring to his new animated streaming series, “The Freak Brothers,” which features his voice and the talents of Woody Harrelson, John Goodman, and Tiffany Haddish.

That show is a reboot of an infamous 1970s underground comic, The Fabulous Freak Brothers.

But back to the topic at hand: is Pete Davidson dating Kim Kardashian? The rumors lit right up last month when Kardashian hosted "SNL," and the two shared a kiss during a sketch about an awkward date. Then came those Knott's Scary Farm theme park photos, and some dinner dates in NYC.

While the rest of the Davidson’s “Late Night” interview didn’t shed any more light on those rumors, saying nothing of course only added gas to the fire.

We’ll have to wait for more rollercoaster photos.
