Since the tragic passing of drummer Taylor Hawkins, the Foo Fighters have canceled all of their upcoming tour dates, which includes their appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 2022.

The festival’s organizers have just announced that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will step in for the Foo Fighters headlining slot on Sunday, May 1.
This will be RHCP’s first appearance at the largest festival in the Big Easy since 2016. The beloved band is on the road in support of their latest release, Unlimited Love, the group’s first studio project featuring John Frusciante since 2006.

RHCP will join headliners such as Stevie Nicks and The Who. The festival will also host performances from Lionel Riche, Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band, Willie Nelson, Jason Isbell and The 400 Unit, Ludacris, Norah Jones, Elvis Costello & The Imposters, Death Cab for Cutie, Ziggy Marley, Randy Newman, Melissa Etheridge, Buddy Guy, Tank and the Bangas, and more.
