For someone who frequently raps about luxury vehicles, has amassed over 100 collectible cars, and is the CEO of Maybach Music Group no less, we found it a bit surprising that Rick Ross just got his drivers license at the ripe ole’ age of 45.

As shocking as it may seem, he revealed on the 3rd hour of TODAY on Tuesday morning that be the #facts. There to promote his new book “The Perfect Day to Boss Up: A Hustler’s Guide to Building Your Empire,” Ross shared the revelation and offered up following.

“I actually was driven to the test. I have over 100 cars, and I just hadn’t had my license,” he said. “So whenever I go joy riding, you know, it was just one of those things.”

So should we go ahead and guess that throughout his over 40 decades of life he’s mastered the skill of driving a car, and perhaps even had a drivers license (maybe) at some point, that has since expired and just now recently renewed? Or are we to assume The Boss has been driving these mean concrete streets license-less this whole time?

As for what or should we say who inspired him to finally head to the DMV? Well that would be, “My mom and sister pressured me, finally, so I went, took the test,” he said. “It took me an hour. You know, I missed a few answers but I got it, I got it.”

Additionally the rapper, producer, executive and more was asked by Al Roker if it had been worth the wait.  To which Ross said, “It was,” adding, “you know, because you should have your driver’s license.”

“It was just something about my smile, and anytime I got pulled over, by the time the officer walked up…” he added, flashing a big grin implying you know what, and seemingly answering our question above.

Let’s be real though even if he hadn’t shared the count of his collection, you could very obviously tell from his various IG posts that The Biggest Boss Rick Ross’s garage boasts an impressive amount of cars including Chevrolet Bel Airs from the 50s, as well as Ferraris, Porsches, Rolls Royces, Teslas, a Bentley and of course some Maybachs.

Oh to be 45, freshly licensed, and own 100+ cars.
