All is right in the world as Weezer frontman, Rivers Cuomo, finally took notice of a TikToker that’s been attempting to catch his eye for nearly three years.

Drummer and TikTok user, Evan Marsalli, gained a following on the platform after committing himself to playing the “Buddy Holly” guitar riff every day until he received acknowledgement from the frontman himself.
As he neared 1,000 consecutive days, Marsalli began to question whether or not he should continue the trend, but that skepticism didn’t last long as Cuomo came through on Day 990.
Cuomo brought the streak to an end recently as he used the app’s “duet” feature to highlight Marsalli, who plays drums in a band called Diet Lite and invite him to play the riff on stage with the group.
“Challenge you to come play this live on Weezer’s Indie Rock Roadtrip tour this summer,” Rivers wrote on the video. “My people will reach out to your people.”
Weezer is currently packing their bags for the Indie Rock Roadtrip Tour, set to hit the road this summer with Spoon, Modest Mouse, Future Islands, Momma, Joyce Manor, and White Reaper along for the ride on select dates. Take a look at the official list of dates below.
