It looks as if Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is taking a different route as he prepares to sketch out a new musical after the band’s first foray onto Broadway didn't quite work out how they had expected.

According to a new post on social media, the Weezer frontman is currently crowdsourcing ideas from fans for the new project, which would also be the next Weezer album, he says. “Does anybody want to help me write the story for a musical (which would be the next Weezer album),” Cuomo wrote on Twitter. “We could make a follow-up to [Songs from the Black Hole] or start afresh.”

Although he provided no further details about the new project, nor how to go about submitting ideas, he did get everyone abuzz with the aforementioned Songs from the Black Hole. As superfans know, the title is an unfinished rock opera album that was to follow the band’s 1994 self-titled debut, some of which made it onto their second release, Pinkerton.
