After teasing her upcoming single "Rumors" for the past week, Lizzo just announced who will be joining her on the track set to drop Friday 8/13, and no it’s not Harry Styles.

Lizzo first hinted at the track with a Pretty Little Liars inspired Instagram post on August 2, writing, "NEW ERA B****. 'RUMORS'. 8/13."
And then somewhere between Lizzo been busy with a TikTok tease and us being busy getting hype about a potential second Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion collab, Lizzo came through with a sneak attack, dropping big Cardi B related news of her own.
Making and early morning FaceTime call, Lizzo rang Cardi, her collaborator to announce their soon to be released track. "Good morning, motherf****aaa,” she says to Cardi in the video before breaking out in contagious laughter. "That's who is featuring y'all. Period. It's Harry Styles,” she joked, since, pun very munch intended, he was one of the potential artists rumored to be on the track.
“GUESS WHOS HOPPIN ON ‘RUMORS’ W/ ME?!?,” the musician captioned the post, in which a not particularly hype Cardi answered.
Lizzo followed the video up with some single artwork, reiterating what we already know in the caption.
As for the FaceTime vid, our guess is, when it wasn’t “9 o’clock in the morning,” and Cardi’s excitement finally sunk in, she took to the comments section to let it be known, writing “ 😍😍😍you really think they ready?,” on one post and “We really did that” on another. She even posted her own announcement using the same pic as Lizzo, which she captioned, “all the rumors are truuuuue - me n my sis @lizzobeeating dropping this friday get ready 😘😘😘.”
“Rumors,” will be the first release from Lizzo in over two years, and to answer your question Cardi - Yes! We are very much ready.
