Snoop Dogg is an undeniable legend, being a pioneer of both modern day Hip-Hop, an entrepreneur, actor, media personality, and more. So it’s only appropriate that his anniversary concert brings in an entire orchestra to help out, and at the Hollywood Bowl no less.

In a concert series from June 27-28, Snoop Dogg and the ReCollective Orchestra, led by conductor Derrick Hodge, are set to, “recreate ‘Gin and Juice,’ ‘What’s My Name,’ ‘Lodi Dodi,’ and more, including hits from throughout his career, on a pair of nights produced by Dr. Dre.” The orchestra will work in collaboration with Dr. Dre’s beats, sound mixing, and arrangement, which will surely produce a larger-than-life reimagined musical experience.

Released back in 1993, Doggystyle brought West Coast Hip-Hop to the forefront of the music world. It debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 200, set the record for most sales with a debuting artist, and was the fastest-selling Hip-Hop album at the time. Since then, the record has gone on to be certified Quadruple Platinum by the RIAA. Doggystyle is having a resurgence as well, due to it being relaunched on digital streaming platforms this past March.

The announcement from the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Hollywood Bowl references songs throughout his career, which may give some space in the setlist for new songs to be previewed. Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg have reportedly been working on a new album, Missionary, which Snoop said would be “comin summer 23” in a past Instagram post. Summer ‘23 and the Hollywood Bowl performances on June 27 and 28 would certainly line up well!

Tickets for the “Snoop Dogg and Friends” concerts will go on general sale on the Philharmonic website this Friday, May 5 at 10AM PT.
