Taylor Swift is on a massive winning streak, as she redefines not only her stardom but the feats of stardom itself. Her latest re-release, ‘Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)’ is a massive hit, bringing in the largest sales week for any album in 2023. And that’s not even its most impressive achievement so far.

Swift is now the first woman in history to have four albums chart simultaneously in the Billboard Top 10. Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) was the final album to break this record by joining Midnights, Lover and Folklore on the Billboard 200 chart. In addition, she’s the first living artist in nearly sixty years to claim four out of ten coveted spots with different albums. Speak Now also brought Taylor her twelfth Number 1 album, meaning she now holds the most No. 1 albums by a female performer. Surpassing Barbra Streisand’s astonishing eleven number 1 albums, Swift is now tied with Drake for the record, with only The Beatles and JAY-Z ahead of them for most number one albums of all time.

Through the combination of her re-releases, her songwriting-focused albums Folklore and Evermore, and the groundbreaking magnitude of The Eras Tour, Swift created a pathway to new levels of notoriety. Aptly named "Taylormania" by Rolling Stone, the singer has had a massive spike in both popularity and success this year. “I try to make the right decision for me, at the time, whether or not it had been successfully done before” she explained in an acceptance speech earlier this year, “and I think maybe that might be the key.”

“People want an example of something working before, but I think the coolest ideas, moves, or choices are the new ones. The ones that set a new precedent.”

Being the first woman to have four albums chart in the top ten at the same time, and holding the most number one albums by a woman, are quite the precedents to set. And, mind you, these are just the records she’s broken at this very moment. Swift’s momentum all but guarantees that she will achieve more feats as time goes on, and rightly so!
