The 1975 and Charli XCX have supergroup plans, and our minds are blown

Over the weekend Charli XCX took to social media to give us a few details about the “super group” she is forming with The 1975 and No Rome.

Today the hyper-pop Queen followed up with another teaser letting us know that the new supergroup’s song, “Spinning,” will arrive on March 4th.

“Super cute mode activated!” exclaims the “Forever” singer on Twitter alongside the tweet the features the most adorable animated version of Charli, the serves as a sneak peek of the visuals to come.

Having shared that she is “v excited” to work with the two acts Charli will work alongside No Rome and The 1975 under the independent, London-based label, Dirty Hit.

The artists have been teasing a possible collaboration for a number of months now. No Rome, whose full name is Guendoline Rome Viray Gomez, tweeted earlier in February, “ok some news - me, (the creator of music) charli xcx & the 1975 have a song together. . got the masters done and waiting on video edit cuts . coming out sooner than u think ok thats all for now i love u.”

Rumors that Charli and The 1975’s Matty Healy were preparing to collaborate have been buzzing since 2019. In the past Healy has tweeted about sending beats to the “Next Level Charli” artist, referring to XCX as “a f***ing force”.

The “supergroup” does not have a name yet, but most importantly the three artists are releasing their first song together this week.
