On the latest episode of Rolling Stone Music Now, host Brian Hiatt is joined by Andre Gee, Julyssa Lopez, Brittany Spanos, and Simon Vozick-Levinson take a look at each, counting down from Sasami’s hard-rock stunner Squeeze with its “Sheryl Crow over louder guitar” vibes to Beyoncé’s house-infused “masterpiece” Renaissance with its interwoven “meanings, samples and references.”

Along the way, the group discussion also included, Maggie RogersSurrender, as well as “one of the strongest conceptual album,” The Weeknd’s Dawn FM, Kendrick Lamar’s Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers and of course many more. All before whittling things down to the Top 5, of which Queen Bey took the top spot.

Counting down from 5 — Harry Styles Harry’s House, and “one of the absolute biggest albums of the whole year, without doing anything on trend.” To 4 — Motomami Rosalía’s un-compromised “weird, arty” third album. Followed by 3 — Taylor Swift’s Midnights full of “huge hooks that just keep getting bigger,” and 2 — Bad Bunny’s “most-streamed” love letter to summers spent in Puerto Rico, Un Verano Sin Ti.

To dive into the whole list, listen to the episode above.
