After a few wild mood swings, Robert Smith & Co. have given fans of The Cure a near-perfect eight-track album with 2024's Songs of a Lost World --admittedly the band's "doomiest" in decades -- throwing back to fan fave records like their '90s opuses Disintegration and Wish.
Their first album in 16 years, Songs of a Lost World can be taken quite literally, as it follows 2008’s 4:13 Dream with swirling and atmospheric songwriting, recurrent rhythms, and desperate lyrics peering straight into the depths of the group's ghostly past.
After dropping the album's first track, "Alone," at the end of September, the band has offered up "A Fragile Thing" as their next single. Listen above and take a look at the full tracklisting below.
