Coming to Paramount+ on September 17, Nöthin’ But A Good Time follows the network’s successful music piracy and Lollapalooza series' with an “Uncensored History Of ’80s Hair Metal” based on Tom Beaujour and Richard Bienstock’s book Nöthin’ But A Good Time: The Uncensored History Of The ’80s Hard Rock Explosion.
The project was directed by Jackass co-creator Jeff Tremaine who, aside from being the guy on the Jackass set with the least amount of collected injuries, also worked on Mötley Crüe’s The Dirt biopic.
Nöthin’ But A Good Time will feature interviews with Hair Metal mainstays such as Bret Michaels of Poison, Nuno Bettencourt of Extreme, Dave “The Snake” Sabo of Skid Row, Don Dokken, Tracii Guns, MTV’s Headbangers Ball host Riki Rachtman and more, plus cameos from fans of the genre like Slipknot’s Corey Taylor and comedian/podcaster Steve-O.
“I’m honored to be part of this docuseries, named after the hit Poison song ‘Nothin’ But A Good Time,’” Bret Michaels says. “I’m excited for viewers to take a fresh look at the fans and bands, highs and lows, and to celebrate the music and good times of the ’80s and beyond. I hope the audience enjoys it as much as I did, and I can’t wait for them to have insight into some of those notoriously crazy moments!”
