Tom Cruise recently made headlines for landing a helicopter in a family’s garden in Warwickshire, U.K. and offering them a free ride.
Now, fans are learning that late-night host James Corden received a similar request from the Hollywood star in the past.

Corden, 43, spoke about his hilariously similar encounter with Cruise on Tuesday’s episode of “The Late Late Show.”
"This summer, me and Tom Cruise were texting about meeting up in London. He sent me a text saying, 'Whereabouts are you staying?' And I said, 'I'm staying in St. Johns Wood,' which is pretty central in London... He said, 'Cool, can I land my helicopter there?' And I just presumed he was joking."
Corden then revealed that the action star was not joking at all.
"He put, 'Can I land my heli in your yard?' I sent back four crying emojis because who can land a helicopter in a yard? And he put, 'Does that mean no?'" Corden joked.
Corden then explained to Cruise that he couldn't land a helicopter in a small yard in the middle of central London, to which the actor replied, "You'd be surprised where I can land."
Earlier this week, Alison Webb from Warwickshire, U.K. was unaware she was about to meet one of the biggest stars in the world after being asked if a helicopter carrying an “unnamed VIP” could use her family’s field to land, BBC News reports.
The actor was filming the latest “Mission: Impossible” film when he needed a place to land his helicopter after the nearby airport was closed, the outlet noted.
"I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden," Webb said. "[Tom Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like, wow."
Webb said Cruise immediately walked over to her children and “elbow bumped” them to say hello and thanked them by offering the kids a ride in his chopper.
"Then he said if the kids would like they could go up in the helicopter," Webb said. "It turned out to be an incredible day. It was surreal, I still now can't believe it happened."
