It’s been a tough year for Vanna White.

While her co-hosting duties at “Wheel of Fortune” have been going along as smoothly as ever, as the game show continues as one of America’s favorite after-dinner pastimes, the 65-year-old has suffered two enormous personal losses in recent weeks.

This week, as Popculture.com reported, White closed an episode by announcing the passing of her beloved cat, Stella. After host Pat Sajak asked White about it, she said, while somehow holding her perfect smile, "She was such a big member of our family, and she's going to be missed so much. Love her to death."

Sajak replied sweetly, "I know I've teased you a little bit about Stella over the years, but we always loved hearing about her." The show then aired a wonderful tribute video that featured photos and videos of Stella with White and other members of her family.

Then not long after the credits rolled on the episode, White shared a heartbreaking Instagram post featuring a lovely photo of her kissing Stella, with the caption, “My sweet Stella has gone to kitty heaven. I miss her so much and will cherish the special memories of the 16 years we had together.”

Fans quickly offered their condolences to White in the comments.

One fan said, "I'm sad to hear that Stella passed away today and my prayers go out to you today and she will truly be missed." Another shared, “Awww I'm so sorry for your loss of Stella, Vanna...sending prayers." While another kindly reminded White that, “She had a great life because of you!”

It wasn’t just the sudden and sad announcement of Stella’s death that had fans checking in on White’s post. Over the years, White has made many mentions of Stella on the show, to the point that fans almost got to know the little kitty themselves, especially as White began sharing posts about her with the hashtag, #stellacat.

This news comes just weeks after the passing of White’s father, Herbert White Jr.

Vanna shared a loving photo of the two smiling, with the caption, "It is with great sadness that I tell you my 96 year old dad passed away peacefully this morning. He lived a full and happy life and will be remembered as one of the kindest and most wonderful human beings of North Myrtle Beach. I love you so much dad. RIP”
