Monét recently stopped by The Big Tigger Morning Show on V-103 in Atlanta and updated us on her ever-evolving list of side quests, and to talk about the meaning behind “Let Me.”

Explaining that she doesn't consider herself a "one dimensional person," Monét shares that she manages her personal life, co-parenting, and busy career by focusing on spiritual resources including meditating, boxing, weight training, and studying Qigong and Tai Chi. She is also a children’s book author and will graduate from culinary school with a diploma on May 4. "I think my brain is just really busy and I have a lot of creative outlets that I'd like to explore,” she shares. “I think I'm not a one dimensional person and so I think for a lot of my years I was so focused on music and songwriting, music and songwriting on this kind of like rat race, hamster wheel I would say, and I think it was just time to diversify and actually really tap into more of the things that I feel creatively inspired by."

Music and songwriting still have a place though, as Monét returned with the new song, “Let Me,” earlier this year. “The song really is about asking vulnerability of a partner,” she reveals, “because I think a lot of times we can put up a wall that doesn't allow us to really share everything we're going through because we're scared either we're going to look a certain way or lose something that we already have based on our vulnerability, or we just don't have the capacity or the ability to know how to be vulnerable."

"It's for me a song just to let somebody know that it's OK, that I can handle all of those emotions for you and I want to reverse engineer those traumas that you may have experienced as a young person, not to be able to express yourself."
