Hurricane Hunters have released time-lapse video of a flight into the eye of Hurricane Florence.
The flight found that Florence had become a major hurricane.
The National Hurricane Center says more strengthening is forecast.
"Maximum sustained winds are near 130 mph with higher gusts. Florence is a category 4 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Florence is expected to begin re-strengthening later today and continue a slow strengthening trend for the next day or so," the Hurricane Center said in the 10:00am advisory this morning.
Florence is forecast to come ashore along the Carolina coast Thursday.
"Florence is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane through landfall."
