The 1986 album Master of Puppets is not only one of the best Metallica records, it’s one of the best rock records. Right off the bat, you’re hit with the raw aggression of the opening track “Battery.” It’s a track that builds with tension until it reaches a grand crescendo and ultimately segues into headbanging glory.
A song so metal could never be a peppy tune, right? Wrong.
YouTube user Börje Unchained! decided to test that theory as he reimagined “Battery” being played in a major key.
The song still retains its frenetic pace, but the overall sound is wildly different from the original. It’s a tune that’s perfect for playing at a loud volume while you’ve got the windows rolled down. Check it out for yourself above.
