As we dive further into our Celebrations In Pride throughout the month of June, Audacy asked some of our favorite Alternative artists what exactly the concept of "LGBTQ+ Pride" means to them.

K.Flay
What does PRIDE mean to K.Flay? "Pride means acceptance, being yourself, celebrating individuality, celebrating community."
PHEM
What does PRIDE mean to Phem? "Not being afraid to support and represent yourself or a community that you're a part of... It's really important that we support the LGBTQ community because they are an integral part of our world and our arts community and they are an unrepresented group of people that need EVERYBODY'S support ALL the time."
Morgxn
What does PRIDE mean to Morgxn? "I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee where I don't think I knew a single gay person, and if I did they didn't talk about it -- which I think is a metaphor in the South for how everyone has to fit some sort of norm -- but we've progressed a lot, although there's a long way to go. I feel like 'Pride Month' is this one month a year -- I think 'Pride Month' should be year-round -- but in this one month, you sort of claim who you are, and who you love, and how you love, and how you are -- every part of that is OK. You don't have to look or act like the people around you to fit in. You can be uniquely you and I think that there are so many people that struggle with just knowing that that's OK... I struggle with it too. So within 'Pride Month' I can just claim that the version of me that you see, it's OK. The version of you that you are, it's OK."
Max Ernst of SHAED
What does PRIDE mean to Max? "Pride is about showing all the different colors of the LGBTQ+ community... It's about celebrating all of our differences but also recognizing that we have this commonality between us which is that we're all proud to be who we are and not like everyone else."
