Two months after stepping out of the spotlight, Morgan Wallen returned to Instagram Tuesday evening with a letter to fans informing them he will not be playing shows this Summer.

“I’ve found this time away to be very valuable to me in many ways, but I feel like I need a little more of it, + therefore will not be performing tour dates this Summer,” Wallen expressed in the four-page handwritten letter posted to his account. “It means I won’t be playing festivals or the Luke Bryan tour dates. But it’s important to me personally, if you can, still go to these shows - support Country music. Country music is back and that’s a beautiful damn thing.”

The post is the first bit of new information fans are getting from the 27 year-old  East Tennessee native since an apology video posted to his account in February. In the video, Wallen revealed his decision to take time off after being caught on camera using a racial slur.

“The video you saw was me on hour 72 of 72 of a bender, and that’s not something I’m proud of either,” Wallen shared in the video. “I’ve let a lot of people down who mean a lot to me and have given a lot to me and it’s just not fair… I’ve decided to go off the grid for a little while and get used to making good decisions.”

Fellow Country artists flooded the comments section of Wallen’s post on Tuesday expressing their support for his recovery with words of encouragement. Artists quick to show support were Jake Owen, Travis Denning, HARDY, Jon Langston, Ernest, Sean Stemaly, Chris Lane, Tyler Reeve and more.
