8 contestants began the night as semifinalists on The Voice as each coach had at least one singer from their team represented. Earlier in the season, Carson Daly informed fans that each coach was not guaranteed to have representation in the finale.

Unfortunately for Team Ariana Grande, that became a reality as Jim & Sasha Allen were eliminated. “i AM BURSTING with pride for jim and sasha and all of everyone from #teamariana,” Grande wrote in a tweet after the show. “To have met & worked with such brilliant artists is the greatest gift and honor of all of this. i can’t believe there wasn’t a time i didn’t know you all.”

The night fared much better for the rest of the coaches as Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson, and John Legend will each have their teams represented in the season finale.

Team Clarkson had Girl Named Tom and Hailey Mia both advance to the finale after they were among the contestants that received the most votes. Wendy Moten and Paris Winningham from Team Shelton rounded out the top four artists receiving the most viewer votes as they advanced to the finale.

That left the aforementioned Jim & Sasha Allen (Team Grande), Joshua Vacanti (Team Legend), Jershika Maple (Team Legend), and Lana Scott (Team Shelton) as the remaining contestants with only one being chosen by the instant save.

For the second week in a row, Jershika Maple won the instant save and will be making her way to the finale."You brought yourself to tears but you probably brought America to tears," Legend said after her performance. "I hate that you get put in this position. You don't deserve this."

The season 21 finale of The Voice is scheduled to take place on December 13th and 14th on NBC.
