Issa Rae is committed, that’s right… committed to her craft, to her job, to her family, to her friends, to her fans, and to Drake… duh.
During her appearances on The ETCs with Kevin Durant, Issa, the basket-baller and his co-host Eddie Gonzalez discussed a long list of topics. Which at one point in the chat was about Issa’s role in curating music for HBO show Insecure and running her own label, Raedio, in conjunction with Atlantic Records.

Interested in what the two hosts have been listening to lately, Issa asked. And while all three were in agreement that Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy is worth revisiting, Issa wasn’t about it when the fellas mention Meek Mill.
“I have not listened to Meek Mill, because” Issa admitted taking a brief pause, before asking, “y’all forgave him?”
Durant and Gonzalez both a bit confused sat relatively silent unit Durant asked, “for the Drake thing?” Which Issa confirmed as her reasoning. Already knowing the answer, Durant still asked, "You didn’t forgive him?," to which she answered, "Not yet."
Even though Issa acknowledged that Drake had already forgiven Meek and that all is well, between the two, she did not falter saying, “I’m the girlfriend that’s like, ‘He asked for no onions!’ So that’s like, I just felt protective of him — with him and Pusha T.”
That being said, she did note that "the music that came out of that period was great" but she "doesn't like when people try him.” Which something we can 100% get behind. But as for not listening to Meek’s music, sorry we’re gonna have to pass, because “Going Bad” is an absolute bop and we refuse to live a life without it.
